Bajali, Assam – June 5, 2024 – In alignment with the 2024 World Environment Day theme “Land Restoration for Drought Resistance,” Jan Briddhi Foundation, a dedicated NGO based in Assam, organized three impactful programs under the motto “Our land. Our future. Our #generationRestoration.” These initiatives, rooted in the principle of “of the people, by the people, for the people,” highlight the foundation’s commitment to community-driven environmental sustainability. The foundation strives to empower underprivileged children through quality education, skill enhancement, and community development, aiming to create a positive impact on the lives of those it serves.
Village Tree Planting Initiative: In the village of Peragaon, Sorbhog, Jan Briddhi Foundation members, along with enthusiastic local volunteers, planted 22 tree saplings. This collaborative effort aimed to foster a sense of responsibility and emotional connection among villagers, ensuring the long-term care of the saplings.
School Tree Planting Initiative: At 436 No Kumuria LP School, Assam, the foundation engaged with students to plant 20 tree saplings. By involving young minds in environmental activities, Jan Briddhi Foundation hopes to instill a sense of environmental stewardship and responsibility from an early age.
Tree Gifts to Key Opinion Leaders: In a move to spread awareness and encourage broader community participation, the foundation gifted approx. 50 tree saplings to key opinion leaders in Bajali district. Recipients included the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Notary Public, Block Education Officer (BEO), Bajali administration office, SP office, press members, and esteemed social workers. This gesture underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in environmental conservation.
